During the nineties FirstLIFE's focus moved from life insurance to a broader range of financial products and services. 1998 saw FirstLIFE demutualised and listed on the JSE Securities Exchange and on the Namibian Stock Exchange. This altered FirstLIFE from a mutual entity to a public company - FirstLIFE Life Insurance Ltd.
